Managing Director, PepTcell Ltd

 

Born in South Africa in 1961. 

Commenced a BSc. degree at the University of New South Wales in Australia but then changed to a BComm. degree. 

Qualified as a Certified Chartered Accountant while working with Arthur Andersen. At the same time undertook a Masters degree in Economics from Macquarie University in Australia. 

Worked for the leading investment banks over a period of 20 years including Morgan Grenfell, NatWest, Bankers Trust, Deutsche Bank and UBS.  Initially I was involved in mergers and acquisitions, listings, equity raisings, valuations and company restructurings.  Subsequently, I was involved in project finance for major asset classes such as power stations, hospitals, office complexes, shopping centres, ships, aircrafts etc.  Finally, I was involved in complex financings using tax advantages in the major countries around the world.For 15 out of the 20 years I was in charge of the divisions I was responsible for and in the last 5 years I was in charge of the global operations. 

During all this time I kept myself abreast of all medical science advancements and had numerous concepts that I wanted to eventually explore.  5 years ago I left banking to establish PepTcell Limited which is a biotechnology company with focus in the area of immunology.
