Mark Edwards
Director of Public Affairs, Pfizer Global R&D (Europe)

Mark graduated from Guy’s Hospital, London in 1987 with degrees in Experimental Pathology and Medicine. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists and has 15 years of medicinal R&D experience, most of it being with Pfizer Global R&D at Sandwich in Kent.
He has researched investigational and marketed products across a wide range of therapy areas, at all stages of clinical development and was the Clinical Director of Pfizer’s development programme for sildenafil in pulmonary arterial hypertension which was approved for patient use in 2005. He moved to Pfizer’s Science Policy group in 2006 and has recently been appointed as the Director of R&D Public Affairs (Europe). He was the author of a recent report that reviewed the science-based skills requirements in R&D at Pfizer.
