CT Group Travel are pleased to bring to your attention the Middle East Association's Multi-Sector Trade Mission to Saudi Arabia which will visit Riyadh, the Eastern Province and Jeddah, from 14th to 24th November. MEA Missions to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia take place twice a year and are welcomed by the local business community. Their last Mission in April 2008 proved to be an outstanding success for all involved.

In addition to the usual benefits and support available on a MEA Trade Mission, this Mission benefits from a generous British Offset Office Travel Grant of up of £500 for qualifying companies and delegates will also be assisted in obtaining the visa required to enter Saudi Arabia.

A key feature of MEA missions to Saudi Arabia which is a '3 centre' market, unlike any other, is the built-in flexibility MEA/CT are able to offer to participants and Mission Members can vary their own itinerary to meet individual company objectives, for example; delegates may extend their stay, or just visit one or two of the Kingdoms centres to reduce their overall time out of the office, and/or may combine the Mission with visits to other markets in the region.

"ESTOOLS" Winter School on Human ES Cells and iPS Cells

ESTOOLS is European Commission-funded consortium under the Framework Programme 6 coordinated by the University of Sheffield (Professor Peter Andrews) and involving 21 partners from across the EU working on human embryonic stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cell technologies.

The consortium has set up a top-level scientific course (winter school) which will run from 26-30 January 2009 in Saariselke, Finland.

Up to 30 places are available to researchers who are not partners in the ESTOOLS consortium, and interested participants are encouraged to view further information on the ESTOOLS website. The closing date for applications to attend the course is 31 October 2008.

The "5th International Technology Transfer Days BIOMATERIAL 2009" will be held as the Final Conference of "INCOMAT", a specific support action financed by the EC.

One of the main tasks of INCOMAT is to identify where biomedical research could make a significant impact on the quality of life of all European Citizens whereby the main focus is on those of Western Balkan Countries (WBC) and Newly Independent States (NIS). On one hand the event enables participants from Eastern Europe countries to gain access to the EU market, and on the other hand the EU biomaterial scene to identify new unused scientific resources and treasures in the NIS and WBC countries.

In this context the most important objective of the "5th International Technology Transfer Days BIOMATERIAL 2009" is to identify the scientific areas where "cutting-edge" developments could provide the supportive technology platform for innovative implants for hard tissue applications.

For this reason the event is focused on the following thematic aspects, whereby each of them will be covered by a keynote lecture:

Knowing from a meanwhile long-term experience of the International Technology Transfer Days BIOMATERIAL (starting in 1998) this should be the most efficient way to get connected with new successful cooperations between suppliers and users in the fields of BONE CONTACT, BONE REPLACEMENT, BONE AUGMENTATION and BONE TISSUE ENGINEERING especially between Europe and WBC as well as NIS!
