UKTI : Japanese Journalist visit to UK 7-11 July 2008 - Deadline Friday 6th June

UKTI has invited a Japanese journalist, Ms Rie Uematsu of Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun, Business & Technology Daily News (Japan's leading trade paper with 420,000 circulation daily), to visit the UK from Mon 7th to Fri 11th July.Ms Rie Uematsu is keen to meet the following UK companies;
a) those who are already selling to Japan
b) those who are interested in selling to Japan
c) those who have newsworthy strong selling points
The main sectors in healthcare of interest are:
a) Diagnostics (eg: POCT, test kit as OTC, diagnostic agent, equipment)
b) Infection control related products
c) Oncology and cardiovascular diseases related diagnostics and therapeutic apparatus
d) Orthopaedics (incl. implant)
e) E-Health (incl. equipment and technology)
f) happy to consider other related sectors if they proved to be innovative and attractive to Japanese traders.
Japan is 2nd largest healthcare market in the world. Imports of medical devices account for 48% of the whole market.
