How to do Business in the Middle East - MEA Seminar
End : 30 Sep 2008 - 17:00
The Middle East Association’s Business Support Division is offering a practical seminar on How to do Business in the Middle East. This will take place at Bury House on Tuesday 30th September 2008.
The event follows previous very successful seminars held at the MEA in 2006, 2007 and 2008; this next one will focus on all aspects of business in the Arab World.
This seminar is about winning contracts in the Middle East and being paid on schedule – it will benefit not only sales & marketing, commercial or legal executives who deal with Arabs directly but also support staff in the UK. These key people will gain an understanding of some of the difficulties faced on the front line and with this knowledge be able to provide better back-up across the region.
Business topics include:
Preparation, Documentation, Understanding the Arab Customer, How to Get your Message Across, Language, Building Relationships – Friendship or Trust, Getting the most from Meetings, Middle East Decision Making, Committees – Why They Exist & How to Deal with Them, The Procurement Process, Specifications, Pricing, Negotiating Techniques, Concluding the Deal, Contracts, Getting Paid – Practical Advice, Late Payments, Selection of Agents, Agency Laws, FCPA / OECD, Local Offices, Dispute Resolution, Times Are Changing WTO, Islamic Banking, the Role of Women and some Golden Rules
The seminar will be informal and relaxed. It will address the topics above and more; questions are encouraged both during the seminar and at the reception afterwards.
