EXETER - A specialist international level meeting for UK businesses in Protein stabilisation

Start:11 Apr 2007 - 08:00
End : 14 Apr 2007 - 16:00

7th International Conference on Protein Stabilization

Following the tradition of the previous International Conferences on Protein Stability you are invited to ProStab 2007 being held in Exeter.

The meeting will be held on the University of Exeter Campus. Its natural setting in parkland, woodland, lakes and gardens gives it the justifiable reputation as probably the most attractive campus in Britain. It has first-class accommodation and conference facilities.

You will be assured of a warm welcome to Exeter University and its surrounding region. Exeter is easily reached by train (2hours 30 minutes from central London), the M5 motorway and regional airports at Exeter and Bristol.

History
The Section on Applied Biocatalysis (ESAB) and its predecessor the Working Party on Applied Biocatalysis (WPAB) co-organized several conferences focused on the stability and stabilization of biocatalysts/proteins but with different titles.
* Stability and Stabilization of Enzymes, Maastrict, 1992
* Stability and Stabilization of Biocatalysts, Cordoba, 1998
* International Conference on Protein Stabilization:
o Leeds, UK, 1998
o Lisbon, Portugal, 2000
o Toulouse, France, 2002
o Bratislava, Slovakia, 2004
o Exeter, UK, 2007

Scientific Programme
The meeting will emphasize current exciting developments in the area of protein stability.
The programme will consist of plenary lectures, short oral presentations and poster sessions with ample time dedicated to encourage the exchange of free ideas.
The main topics topics to be covered will address:-
Protein folding
Protein denaturation
Natural methods of protein stabilisation
Mechanisms to stabilise existing proteins
Protein immobilisation
Protein water interactions
Protein organic solvent interactions
Proteins in ionic liquids
Protein-protein interactions
Protein-carbohydrate interactions
Industrial proteins and optimisation for use.
