SEHTA News

Welcome to the February newsletter of SEHTA.  Firstly we would like to draw your attention to the new updates to the SEHTA website - in particular if you are a member you will see that the Member Directory is more user-friendly and has a very useful search facility - take a look at www.sehta.co.uk

Meeting members needs

I guess it’s the time of year we all take stock and look forward. Perhaps I could encourage you to join SEHTA and get your colleagues to join. This might create a New Year Revolution in your organisation. Don’t forget its free for companies in the sector, universities, and NHS employees.

Just ask George Sampson of APA Parafricta who has taken advantage of several of our projects and, as a consequence he has seen orders flow into the company for his revolutionary fabric.

In this Newsletter we just want to highlight once again some of our projects and services which have been so much help to George and his company.

If it’s a new business plan you want reviewing or help finding funds then try our BFAS programme - please also take a look at the new funding section on our website!

If its help with Biomanufacturing – hurry as funds are rapidly running out!

One of the major reasons for Georges’ success was the excellent PR we helped him get through our partner Coast communications. Matt is waiting to help more of you into the dailies - click here.

Our links into the NHS are growing through our joint sponsorship of NHS innovations South East. If you would like to know more about how they can help you develop a product for the NHS, then get in touch with our SEHTA office at nhs@sehta.co.uk

Last, but not least I hope, is my help. I am very happy visiting companies. I make lots of referrals not just to SEHTA projects but to other trusted business support projects. What’s more, I also do match-making both between companies in the UK and overseas through my EU networks.

Just ask Haley for an appointment - haley.dwyer@sehta.co.uk

Please do take advantage of these projects and my personal support – they will help your company grow and almost all the help is free.

Up-date on projects

Assistive Technologies and Telecare

If Telecare is of interest to you, please let us know as we have recently secured a grant to operate a knowledge network on Telecare and would like to put you in touch with other like-minded companies.

Regional Science and Technology Strategy Plan

I recently sent all members a request to help me put together a regional science and technology strategy plan. What I really want is a bit of informed crystal ball gazing. Where is the science and technology in all our sub-sectors going?

The exercise is being sponsored by SEEDA and if non-members would like to make a contribution then please email haley.dwyer@sehta.co.uk for a questionnaire document.

If members haven’t sent theirs in yet, please do. I think this document is very important for our sector and I do need your input.

Biotrinity

I hope you are already aware of the forthcoming major conference in Oxford in March, ‘Biotrinity’  - SEHTA is the major sponsor.

Bookings are going well and all the stand space has been sold. It does promise to be an excellent event and there is 10% discount for SEHTA members.

So please reserve a place now - click here

Best regards

David Parry

Chief Executive Officer
